This 12-track instrumental electronic album is Lisher's debut on Independent Project Records (IPR). It's not his first solo record, but it's likely to raise some eyebrows among long-time followers.

"I purposely stepped outside my comfort zone," Lisher says. "This album might surprise a few people."

Surprise indeed. Lisher, primarily known as a guitarist, has swapped his six-string for synthesizers and keyboards. The result? A blend of art rock, ambient, dub, and prog that straddles the line between melodic and experimental. Lisher's approach to songwriting was equally adventurous, often starting with sound collages that led him to unexpected places.

For the curious, the first single, "Finding the Future," is out now on all digital platforms. The album, which will be available on black and clear vinyl, CD, and digital formats, is available for pre-order as well.

IPR has a storied history in the alternative music scene. Founded in 1980 by Bruce Licher, the label is known for its distinctive hand-printed record covers for bands like R.E.M., Stereolab, and yes, Camper Van Beethoven.

Lisher's new direction proves that even after 39 years in the business, there's always room for exploration and growth. As he puts it, "It's like fishing. I have no idea what I'm going to catch."
